Jasmine's story
Hi! My name is Jasmine and I'm a short-hair calico (technically -- thanks to the small white spot on my chest) but I definitely act like a tortoise shell. Have you ever heard of tortitude? Well I'm up to my eyes with it. I am miss sassafras all the way. Queen of the house. Ruler of the roost. Things go my way or the highway!
Speaking of highways, I was found wandering the road all by myself, hungry and covered in fleas! I spotted a Good Samaritan and crossed a four-lane highway just to hopefully get some help. Based on my weight, the Good Sam thought I was only five weeks old. Luckily, PetPromise took me in and found me a great foster mom! The vet told my foster mom that I was actually eight weeks old, just very malnourished. My foster mom says I'm the bravest little kitty she's ever met! She also thinks I'll always be a small sized kitty, but hey, we'll never know til I'm fully grown!
My foster mom and I were best buddies and I slept with her every night and purred up a storm. I also loved my foster mom's resident kitty. I would annoy him and sleep with him and chew on his ears. Luckily he was very patient. All was going great until mom got me some foster siblings when I was about 12 weeks old and OH MY GOODNESS! I did NOT appreciate not being her only princess anymore! I would aggressively hiss and growl and go after my new foster siblings for about a week when they moved in. But I mean honestly, they were eating MY food, and playing with MY toys, and getting love from MY foster mom. Slowly but surely I learned that these foster siblings were actually pretty cool! I got some playmates I could rough house with and I actually didn't mind sharing my dinner.
So yeah, long story short, I can be quite bossy but I am able to adjust. My foster mom thinks I'll be fine in any house as long as everyone is patient and I get to be the boss. Honestly, I probably wouldn't mind being the only kitty either! Apply to adopt me so we can meet up and see if we're a purrrfect match

We do our best to ensure that all of the PetPromise pets and their new owners are the perfect match, so the adoption process includes a mandatory home visit; for that reason, adoptions outside Franklin County, Ohio and contiguous counties may not be possible.
PETPROMISE DOES NOT HAVE A SHELTER. Our pets are housed in volunteer foster homes while awaiting adoption.
PETPROMISE HAS NO PAID STAFF. The people processing applications are volunteers with full-time jobs and families, so it may be several days before you receive a response to your application.
