My name is Elly Piper and I am a very sweet, curious and energetic dog.
I am a 3

year old, spayed female, German Shepherd mix. I was surrender when my previous owner fell on hard times and could no longer care for me. I was an emaciated dog and suffered greatly from skin and ear infections that caused me to lose most of my hair. I had no or little exposure to people because I was mostly confined in a crate with no attention and little care. 
Since my rescue three months ago, I have gained 23 lbs and my hair has grown back. I now weigh 66 lbs and will probably gain another 10 - 15 lbs before I am back to normal. I am now looking great and feeling happy again. I started learning basic behavior training and now I know how to sit, shake hand, down and stay.
My foster parents do not have young children but have two big dogs and I get along well with both of my foster brother and sister. I am a very active dog and enjoy my daily two hour play time at the park. We get to run off-leash in a large field where we chase each other and play ball.
I enjoy being around my foster family so much but I have a little anxiety when I am left alone. When they come home from work, I get super excited and can be very vocal. I am a little timid when I meet new people and I tend to bark at them. However, as soon as I get over my fear, I warm-up to them quickly. 
I am currently on a grain-free diet which keeps my food allergy under control.
I am looking for a forever home
